MOASMock is here!!!

December 18, 2008

Finally it is ready. I have created an ETS file using Enthuware’s ETS Editor. This file contains all the questions that I have found and was able to load. I will slowly add other material such as notes and tutorials to it as well.

I have uploaded the file to eSnips for now. The url is http://www.esnips.com/web/rashijainscjp-scjp

To use the file, you have to use ETS Viewer from http://enthuware.com/etsviewer

This has taken a lot of my time and I am now angry with myself why I spent so much time on it instead on focusing on SCJP studies. I guess the negativity shown by some people on JavaRanch thread ( http://saloon.javaranch.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=24&t=047436 ) really pushed me to do it. I just hope the effort was worth it 🙂

Please post any bugs or suggestions here so that I can update it. I wanted to categorize all the questions into exam objectives but I am so tired. If you have time, please do help with this.

And BTW, I named it as MOASMock – Mother of All SCJP Mocks 😀

Credits – I have collected questions that were available on the net and were given out by people for free.  I have only put that material in one place. (Please read my previous post to understand why I did it.) The name of the author whose material is used is also displayed.  If you are an author and if you don’t like your material to benefit more number of people, please let me know and I will remove it.

Collection of 1200 SCJP mock questions…

December 16, 2008

I have now collected about 1200 questions from various sources over the web. I have asked for permission from the authors. I have received replies from some.

Initially, I though of just copying the questions in DOC file or even text file. But as the number of questions increased, the file was getting to difficult to open. So I figured how difficult will it be use. So I started looking for free mock exam simulators that can store the questions and allow users to attempt the questions as in a regular exam format.

I tried out Java.Inquisition from http://enigma.vm.bytemark.co.uk/inquisition/index.php/Main_Page and then Paul A of http://enthuware.com suggested me to use their Enthuware Test Studio. He helped me with loading and organizing the questions within an “ets question bank”.

I am giving some final touches to the collection and will upload it somewhere soon. (Any suggestions where I should upload it? ) The data file is about 3 MB. It is quite small considering that it contains almost 1200 questions.
